2014 Ecodiesel out yet?

Want to buy a 2014 Summit Ecodiesel after doing some research, but live in the Phoenix Metro area and can't find a single one. An e-mail from a dealer was kind of vague saying they can't order them yet. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything. Thanks.

No, the diesel is not out yet and they don't know when I will be out.

14 August 2013 dealers can start placing/taking orders.

Depends on when the engine is approved/certified or sale in the USA by the EPA. Currently EPA workers are under furlough. Sergio needs to have his members of Congress get involved.

This is the same thing they have said every month, until Jeep themselves come out and announce something I believe nothing.

It would be nice if we had a good ETA. My 2008 CRD needs some new brake pads and possibly a new battery and I was hoping I wouldn't have to put any more money into it.

Thank you. Had another dealer tell me he can't order yet either, and no ETA. Guess we're all getting similar answers. Is it just me or do you wish they would've kept the saddle brown interior on the 2014's?

My local dealer is keeping a list of those interested and will send updates when (of if) they get them. There is quite a bit of interest (over 50 people who've called in and given them their phone # and email) for the ecodiesel.

The August order date mentioned above is consistent with what insiders are currently saying in another forum that is stocked full of insiders. But even they say it can change...again...

I heard they're taking diesel orders right after the update on the tranny "fish bite" issue gets released.

The last official communication to us dealers stated the diesel will be in showrooms in October.

Are there fish bite issues with the new 8spd, I thought that was a 5/6 spd, pre-14 issue?

Yes, I was referring to the pre-14 5/6 speed. It was said tongue-in-cheek, as that release date has been on-going for quite awhile now to the frustration of those who have the problem.
No issues with the 8 spd that I'm aware of.

off topic but the 8 spd does a great job with downshift braking on pavement (seperate from hill descent control avail only in 4 low). Even kicked in during cruise control to keep my speed slower on a long descent off mth road
