hello! i hope all of you are doing better than we are. we have a 2014 limited with the eco diesel in it, we had the intermittent engine shutter as some of you may have had, this is supposed to be fixed under TSB 09-006-15 where they replace the heads on the motor. the dealership finally agreed to do this after fighting with them for a year and having them tell us everything from it needs a tire rotation to a system flash. we took it in on aug 10th for this work and finally got it back on sept 1st......:surprise: everything was running great and we were headed out for the holiday weekend, we were going to take our other vehicle but decided to let the jeep run and attempted to take it from SLC to Mesquite, approx 350 miles. we made it about 100 miles or so and it went completely dead, only thing that worked was the radio and lights. the engine acted like it had seized. the jeep was towed back to the dealer that did the repair work on sept 2nd, where it still resides. we have contacted chrysler customer care and have a "case manager" that basically calls us and tells us the same thing the dealer does. i have also filed a claim with the NCDS in regards to lemon law, and we have a hearing set for 10-18. we got word yesterday that the motor is officially ruined and the chrysler has agreed that it was defective and are covering it under warranty. here is where i was wondering if anyone knew of any help, we dont want this thing, it has been nothing but problems, the head replace was over $10k that chrysler has already paid, and now they have to buy and install a new motor, not sure the cost there but i imagine its upwards of $15k? if chrysler puts this motor in, there is no way they will offer a buy back, is there someone we could call to find out if they are willing to buy us out before they go to the expense of the new motor? i would imagine it would be more cost effective to buy us out, than to buy a new engine and maintain the remaining of the 5/100,000 mile warranty... anybody know of anyone or who to talk to rather than waiting for our hearing? the dealer has given us no time frame for the new motor, other than chrysler put a rush on it.....
