pulled it from a .pdf, via wk2jeeps.com - but yes, according to page 3 of the .pdf, under the emissions controls, it will have urea injection.

The data in the link says "Introduction Date - Spring 1992 as a 1993 model" lol

The diesel gets 30 mpg highway over 21 mpg for the v8 - both with 2wd (that's 42% better fuel economy more than enough to overcome the higher diesel cost). City mpg for the diesel is about what the v8 gets on the highway.

Question is is this DIY or do you have to go to the dealer and have the computer reset etc.

Edmunds lists the 2013 Cayenne diesel at 28 MPG highway and a slightly higher tow rating.

Someone on the WK forum greatly increased their mileage by putting in a taller gear ratio. The 2008 CRD I drive runs at 2,000 RPM at 55 MPH and I've got to think it would get better mileage at 1,500 RPM.

Now, with the diesel AND a new 8 speed tranny, what is that three additional ratios? we're supposed to get 30 MPG?

A Cayenne does more as would any of the other VAG line diesel 'utes..

Seems odd to add diesel and more ratios and yet apparently at least moved backwards in expected consumption performance.

The '07 '08 CRD would get much better mpg if it had a 6th or 7th gear (it is only a 5 speed auto).

I concur about 2K@55mph. I'm spinning about 2450 on the tach at 70mph, but I have 3.73 gears in mine(tow pkg). The 2014 w/8spd gets 3.45 gearing. One would hope of a 1400rpm cruise at highway speed...

Thanks for that link - that is one serious bit of kit. I knew that the new 3.0lt was a good engine but had no idea of the strength built into it. Hopefully, Banks will have some good upgrade kits available for this motor before too long

2014 Overland Oiler, ORII, QD, Granite/Indigo Blue, rock rails, Cooper AT3's - oh yeah!!
Officer, these handcuffs are tight!
Just relax, they're new. They'll stretch after you wear them a while....

Actually, no it's not, but it's historically close (and was true recently).

Still, yes, it appears that the Jeep is market priced and represents a nice profit margin. Vive la exports!

Back in the Good Ole Days

The exchange rate was 1 US dollar = almost 2 Canadian dollars. The Canadian economy is currently doing a lot better than the US economy.

It will be interesting to see how the sales of light duty diesels go in the enxt couple of years. Especially since many are predicting a significant drop in the cost of a gallon of gas in next 5 to 7 years because of increased production and refinery capability here in North America. lets hope the Obama Administration doesnt kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

Thanks for the link. Looks like they lightened the shades quite a bit on the maximum steel & black forest green colors. Which is good, as both appeared to be closer to black before. I'm not sure I like the new black forest green....will have to see that in person to decide.
I'm glad I got my 2013, but at the same time looking forward to checking out the new model in the Spring.
