that's a beast, mofsteel. I have the same one, so potentially some bias there.

Just leased my 2014 Altitude and I'm very disappointed that it didn't come with the back-up camera and/or Nav. I originally test drove a limited because the Altittude was sold out in my city. Then I drove 90 miles to pick up my Altitude and I just assumed that it had the same Uconnect system. I would like to add the backup camera and nav but more so the camera if I can for under $500.

I got the Nav installed at the dealer...worked it into the lease for about $500. I think the price is going to be $500-$600 to get the Nav downloaded. Takes about 30-45min to download the software from the satellite.

I'd also like some specifics on the backup cam options.

How much did you put down, term, miles, and monthly payment? Also, where do you live?

Thanks!

I put down $2500 for 3yr/36,000, payment is $550 but that's cause I had $6000 in negative equity on my lease trade in. I live in Milwaukee, WI and drove 90 miles to Barrington, IL to pick it up cause all my local dealers were sold out.

Damn $6000 down for a lease, that's a lot to dish out.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure I didn't overpay by too much. I knew to get this model I wouldn't be able to get too much of a deal.

5k down. 12k miles x 2 yr. $323/m
no additional expenses/payments upfront.

Agreed, traded in a paid off Saturn Outlook and took home some cash in addition to the deal. Really wanted the Altitude, it literally was coming off the truck when I got there.

I just got factory rearview camera installed by a 3rd party installer the dealer uses since the actual factory part from mopar is not available for the 2014 altitude ATM. I paid a total of 600 and that includes the dealer having to unlock the camera in the uconnect system after it was installed. It works great with the exception of the known jumpy issues. I would rather pay 600 for a camera than be forced to get a limited that, let's be honest, is not as nice as the altitude trim.

Its plain dumb to not have the camera as an option but I only wanted the Altitude.

Can anyone provide a clear set of instructions/parts used to install the backup camera on the 2014 Grand Cherokee Altitude?
