2012 Antenna Base removal

I broke the antenna off tonight. Unfortunately it actually broke off below the antenna screw so I need to replace the base unit.

I see a small hole where it looks like I should stick a driver in to pry it up.

Is this correct?

I saw a few pics on the internet of the underside of the base and it looks like the unit attaches through a small hole where some sort of expansion nub pushes through. Looks like 3 wires as well came with the unit.

Any help would be appreciated!!

You have to get at is from the inside, pull the headliner down a bit, loosen one or two screws and the antenna cables. A procedure was posted her awhile ago, but I'm not in a good place for searching at the moment. You can't just pry.

Its not clear which one you need. I'd go to forum sponsor moparonlineparts and navigate through the repair parts for a 2012 grand cherokee to the electrical/radio/antenna section. Its probably 5064771AC but I dunno. If your Jeep came from the factory with satelite and GPS, you can give them your VIN (or any dealer's part desk) and they can tell you what part number to order.

Otherwise, someone may look it up post here in a day or two.

The other option may be 68186122AA but that looks like satellite only.

Mopar #5064861AD is the one i bought.

factory satellite and navigation.

going to see if i can replace it myself this weekend. looks like the trim at the top of the hatch comes off and I can get in-between the roof and the inside of the cabin. Looks like 3 connection points. Guessing its radio/satellite/GPS.

Someone posted the procedure maybe a year or so ago. I don't recall if there are spring clips involved or just a screw or two.

Not so obvious but check here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f309/...=antenna+clips
