2011 Laredo Transformation

Started with a Laredo X, here are the mods I have done over the past 48K miles and almost 3 years. This will keep me happy after the next redesign comes around and I can pass this down to my daughter. My intention is to give others some inspiration and ideas. I can't believe how much fun it has been. By the way, her name is Mulata. :-)
  1. SRT8 Headlights w/Phillips 5000K bulbs w/Huskey clear plastic film
  2. CREE 5000K LED bulbs
  3. Rear/Turn and rear fogs LEDs
  4. Powder-coated OEM rims with Altitude center caps and black lug nuts
  5. Altitude grill and rear brow
  6. Color matched Sharkfin antenna
  7. Two tone, perforated and silver stitching Katzkin with headrest Jeep logo
  8. Windows and hood bug deflectors
  9. 1.5" Bora spacers
  10. 265-65-17 Discoverer AT/3 tires
  11. Grand Cherokee lettering on doors
  12. Aftermarket hitch receiver for Thule bike rack
  13. Upgraded OEM AC controls
  14. Aftermarket JVC headunit with navigation
  15. Overhead rear DVD console
  16. Carbon fiber mirror covers
  17. OEM cross bars
  18. JK Speaker LED fog lights

Have to find the time to black out the window trims.

Looks great. I'm not a huge fan of window visors. If you started with a Laredo X, didn't you have 18" wheels as OE? Great job on the wheels -- you didn't take the "'dip" route...

tell me how you like your tires, I'm looking for a road friendly AT. The coopers are on my short list. road noise, handling, off road performance?

Can you give a source for the mirror covers & the fog LEDs?
Thanks.

I like the seat covers....if I didn't have saddle, I definitely would have gotten the same thing done on mine. Seats look puffy....is there a padding in the cover?

Jackal - What does crawl do again?

Thanks guys. It was a basic Laredo, but the deal was to install Laredo X features, (remote start, rear view dimming visor, etc.) I forgot to ask for the rims at the time, but I'm ok with it because I like the big tires.

I love the AT/3's, had them for about 20K now. They are noisier than stock of course but they perform great in snow and ice. I did get a flat and replaced 2 but the thread difference between new and old was barely noticeable. I got mine for about $775 from Strauss Auto but they are no longer in business. STS carry them for $220. I drive 25 miles hwy every day and they are not rough all, I swear they feel even smoother with the 1.5" spacers. Can't explain why but I'm sure it's not my imagination. Probably more stability from spreading the tires 3" further apart.

Carbon Fiber mirror covers are from Black Ops Auto (http://www.blackopsautoworks.com/pag...Iit=393&Ict=20), they seem to be on back order but I would email them if interested.

The Fog LEDs are the kit from Taillight Solutions (http://www.taillightsolutions.com/). I love this kit, because in stop and go traffic, people notice right away when you are braking, they can't miss it since there at 5 bright LEDs (including top) telling them to stop. There is a Triton (http://www.vleds.com/v3-r.html) bulb now available that's even brighter for the tails, but they cost $100 for the pair. By the way, those have built in resistors if you don't want to do the whole rear fog kit.

The covers were manufactured by Katzkin and installed by a shop over the cushions that were on the clothed seats. I guess the cloth ones were cushy...

It is basically just following the thread. If you click your name at the top right, it shows on that page what threads you are crawling. It is cleaner than looking at the "My Replies" tab since typically there are a lot more in that section.
