I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 Overland. The recall on the fuel pump relay in the TIPM had apparently been fixed already before purchasing the vehicle. However the car and while de-accelerating (one time at a red) and another making a right turn the vehicle completely shut off (locking steering etc). The dealer can't find anything wrong with the car after doing their tests. Has this happend to anybody else or does anyone have a solution to this.
There's a good chance the replaced fuel pump relay is also going bad. Chrysler finally and officially changed vendors on the relay late last summer or early fall. If your replacement dates before that change... I'd highly expect it's failing also.
I will have to check the level, and see if it is low or not.
Also I believe the repair was done in early 2015, the dealer checked out and did whatever tests they believed they had to do but came to the conclusion that they can't tell what it is unless it happens when they have the car. To me that just means there looking for an error code of some sort which from my research and readings of other peoples experiences doesn't happen.
I'm sorry to hear about your stalling concern. Dealer duplication is very important to the diagnosis process. Did the stalling events you experienced happen in the same day? Has it happened since?
grandcherokeesa -- I have the same problem on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Limited. I had the recalls fixed last week but my car has stalled twice since then. Mine has only occured in 1 spot on my way to work where I am decelerating off of the interstate going slightly up hill. I've brought it in to be checked 5 times now (3 different Jeep dealerships in the area), and no one has found a solution. The only answer is that they cannot do anything until it happens every day and while they are working on it. I would love to hear more details on when your issue happens and any results / tips from anyone who services it to see what may happen. I will certainly share my results if I ever get it fixed as well.
I had a similar issue except that mine would occasionally refuse to start on the 1st or 2nd attempt. My dealer, like yours, told me they could not diagnose a fix until it did it in their service bay. Finally, it absolutely would not start at all...but fortunately it was in my driveway. I had it towed from my home and the dealer added the external fuel pump relay, something they should have done the first time I took it in.
Had a pathfinder that stalled out while driving. Its was the camshaft sensor that crapped. Once I replaced it, it was good to go. No codes were thrown either.
Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem you all are describing. The dealer did the fuel pump relay recall and also changed the crank sensor. Still experiencing stall problem. The car is located at Puerto Rico, taken the car to the dealer 7 times and they haven't being able to fix the problem. Has anyone fix the problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Mine seems to have cleared up with a new external fuel pump relay (recall had already been done so we did it again) and new fuel pump and a new PCM. So far no failures to start and no more stalling on the road. It's been about a month now and it should have happened by now.
Jeep Grande Cherokee stalled with the dealer driving!
A little background:I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Laredo 4 x 4 currently has 75,000 miles on it. and was purchased in 2014 with 32,000 miles on it. I LOVE my jeep, rave about it to everyone until I went though 3 right hand turn bulbs. My husband found this very odd but we didn't think much of it. Fast forward to Fall 2015 Jeep had a little under 70k mile son it.
The first two times the car stalled I though I was nuts and had accidentally hit the shifter... the car lost all power but air, and radio were still on. I popped the car in neutral and re-started. I told my husband and moved on. My husband was driving it with 3 kids in the back and lost power getting on the freeway. He then realized it definitely wasn't from knocking the shifter. It then escalated to happening 1-3 times a month where the car would lose all power, no power steering or brakes. This mostly happens during right hand turn, slowing down or more recently at stop lights. I took it into the Simi Valley Jeep dealer after reading about it on here who said they could not recreate the problem... Okay I figured that. From there I continued driving the car until one night it caught me so off guard when making a turn that I ended up in the wrong side of traffic due to the loss of power steering. It then proceeded to shut off on me three times while on the freeway. I instantly brought it in to West Valley Jeep. We decided to leave it there and if they could not locate the problem we would replace the TIPM which is what most people said it was on here.
Well we received good news!!! The car shut off on the technician driving it who had the computer plugged in and was told that it is the PCM not the TIPM causing the failure. Haven't gotten it back yet but will update everyone later to let you know if that was a permanent fix! Good luck with your jeeps!

I have a 2011 GC with the 5.7 and it has happened to me 4 times, dealer can't find and issues but this is a very dangerous situation. Once was traveling on the highway and started to take the exit, no steering or brakes while exiting the highway is not a good combination.
