2011 Grand Cherokee Fobik keys

Any of you guys figured how to change batteries in the new Fobik keys that come with the key-less entry?
I was wondering because sooner or later the batteries will need replacement and this key doesn't have the usual notch for splitting the case open.

On page 28 of the downloadable manual from jeep.com, it shows that you remove the "key" from the fob and how to pry apart the Fobik.

Your welcome. There is a ton of information in the online manual that isn't in our glove box manual. Someone on here directed me to it when I had a question about snow chains.

Yup, I accidentally took mine with me in the, errrr ocean, so I had to open it up and make sure it was good and clean and dry. Its not that tricky to pop it open.

Somehow I took the User's Guide to be the manual. I thought you always get a paper manual. Times change.
I was looking yesterday about a procedure to replace the battery, didn't find any. I guess I'd have to remove the bolts/nuts that hold the seat to get to it. I keep thinking that they may be an easier way. A search in the pdf manual for "battery" didn't show anything, or I missed it.

I went out and looked at mine, seems the seat would move forward enough. My Mercedes GL450 has it in the same spot and moving the seat forward is more than enough.

A lot of new things in my new Jeep. My older Jeeps are old technology. Thanks for the help.

BTW today I did my first remote start, just to try the system. Worked great, I'll be using it this winter quite a bit.

Speaking of FOBIK, does anyone know if the customer can program a new key for the 2011 GC? I know the customer could do so in older Jeeps (as long as they already had two functional FOBIKs). Seems like this may not be the case in the new Grand Cherokee (at least when I attempted to create a new FOBIK). Anyone have any experience in this area.

Anyone aware whether these keys are waterproof/weatherproof?....(i.e. if I was to accidentally go into water with it, is it going to 'kill' the key?)
