2011/12 Grand Cherokee CRD at the dealer in U.S

I went to the dealer today to get a oil change on my patriot. I went to talk with my sales guy while i was waiting. I walked in and all the sales guys were looking out the window into the lot. Some how they got delivered a Grand Cherokee with a CRD engine in it. It was delivered that night and today chrysler sent a flat bed truck to come pick it up. They werent sure if it was a U.S version or not but it was nice to look at. Then they put it on the flat bed and they covered it all up.

Makes me think the diesel already meets US emissions. There were photos of the CRD versions driving on US roads. I really hope it is coming here soon.

That would be great if they began selling them here. I'd wait maybe three years and then make the switch if the engine "felt right" for the WK2.

I buy manual transmissions whenever they're available, but in a CRD, I wouldn't care for a manual. If it were available, I'd be tempted to buy the manual 'just because', but those engines are truly better suited to the automatics.

Presuming it will have the 8 speed autobox by the time it arrives in 2013, it will get even better mileage than a six speed manual, too.
