2011-12 GC Mileage

All,
Wife and I are looking at buying a 2011-12 GC Overland with the Std 6 cyl in it. WHat kinda mileage are you experiencing. We currently have a 03 GMC Envoy that get about 22 mpg on the road around 65-70 mph and combined 16-17 mpg going back forth to work (mostly 55 mph). Trying to decide if we want to go JEEP route. Would like some weigh in on the 5.7 also since we might pull a 4200 lb boat once in a while.

Thanks All

I think you can find the answer to both your questions in previous posts within the last week or so.

With the Hemi you can expect 15 to 16 in town and around 20 on the road, unless you get aggressive with it. Towing my 3k boat I get about 15.5 in tow haul mode up and down these hills where I live and it pulls with ease. The Hemi is wonderful for towing and it pulls these hills easily. Good luck.

v6 will be slow and get about 3 more mpg over the Hemi.

If you are towing 4000 lbs., get the Hemi.

V6 4wd has enough power for me, and I'm 29 and like to pass slow pokes every now and then. . Usually see about 18-19 in town, but I mostly only drive highways and have been getting 24mpg pretty consistently on mostly flat trips. Only have about 2800 miles so hoping to see this improve even more.

Only 1k miles, 90+ percent in outer 'burbs w/V6, but so far 17.x mpg pretty consistently. Gas here has 10% ethanol, which doesn't help.

With just under 1K miles, averaging 14.6 mpg with Hemi V8 in a mix of around town and commute into city. About the same as my 2006 4.7 V8 was.

Averaging almost 18mpg with about 50/50 city and highway. I think pure highway, mostly flat you could see 24mpg. The V6 isn't to fast off the line, but its fast enough for a SUV. I'm not trying to race anyone in a 5000 pound hunk of metal! And i'm coming from a 2011 BMW M3.

+1! Enjoying similar mileage.

When feeling frisky, I use the other car.

Only have approximately 1400 miles on my V-6 but am really impressed thus far. Just drove a 200 mile round trip and averaged over 24 so I consider that pretty good for a heavy SUV.

In a mix of city and highway driving over the last 800 miles - I've been averaging 22.3 MPG.

I think it's gone up a bit after the 1st oil change but I can't quantify it for you.
