'14 Limited ORA II or '13 Trailhawk

I apologize as I know these questions are frequent and potentially annoying but I would invite input on a purchase decision. My current '11 Laredo has just sold.

Replacement options:
- '13 Trailhawk V6
- '14 limited ORII
- '14 limited with 20" wheels (look wat better than new 18" thin spoke wheels IMO but no offroad cred/equip)
- wife wants me to get a Durango , though is game for an R/T

I welcome your 0.02

If you ever think you'll need a 3rd row, get the Durango. We went from having a 3rd row, to WK2. There have been several times I wish I had the Durango.

Out of the WK2s, I'd pick the '13 Trailhawk, or wait for the '14 Trailhawk(could be a long wait). The '14s do not entice me enough. There are a few niceties, but also some downfalls.

13 Trailhawk

My local dealer has a few. Dealers maybe be more willing to deal on these.
I would offer 8%+ under invoice since you take a big depreciation hit the momemnt you sign the papers.

Yes, there are two dealers in my area that have like 8-10 each that do not seem to be moving.

The dealer closer to me has them priced at invoice minus holdback + 100.00. I might offer them even less than that. Right now I'm looking at about 38,600 on it. I can get a limited with ORA II for about the same price

I could have bought a 13 overland with a sticker of 48k for 41,800 out the door, including 6 percent sales tax and all, about 10 to 11 percent below invoice.

'14

I went with the '14 limited with ORA II for 37,999 vs '13 Trailhawk 38,500

Could not justify the depreciation difference of a '13 vs '14; laredo vs. limited; also non-nav vs nav ready and an easy add on

The new interior, in person, kind of puts the old interior to shame. The '13 radio unit looks prehistoric vs the '14

Either would have been a great ride, the '14 won out on aesthetics and financial sense.

They deliver it tomorrow, I'll post some pics when they do

but what does a trailhawk give you that a ORA II wont other than rock rails and diff tires? If one were two upgrade the tires and add rock rails on ORAII then = trailhawk ?

I have a 2013 Trailhawk and as much as I like mine; also can't fault you for going with a 2014, because I like both. The exteriors are about equal in my book, but the new interiors are even nicer than ever.

Enjoy!

Thx, the other factor was, as you can imagine, the wife was goo-goo for a limited with all the toys and kind of meh for a trailhawk. If I was a bachelor it might would have been a trailhawk.

My main beef with the '14's are the new headlights, though on the limited with the front tow hooks it still looks better than my base laredo '11

I'd go for the '14. You can get the skids, rock rails, rims/tires and [if you like it] decals from the trail hawk...but as the class action suit that's being filed claims, the early release of the '14 has crushed the resale of the '11-'13...Just something to mull over...

But as a confession, that trailhawk is a sweet looking car, if I off-roaded more, I might go with the trail hawk...

It depends on who you talk to... The class action suit is complete bull.

We were just faced with the same decision for my wife a week or so ago. The Trailhawk won out.
The 2014 has some awesome upgrades over the Trailhawk, but the Trailhawk is just so damn cool IMO. My wife says its gets lots of looks, WK2's are a dime a dozen, Trailhawks are not.
