The Chronic Album by Snoop and Dr. Dre. Consistently on Rolling Stone's greatest albums list. It is pure art. Most modern stuff is garbage.

Whoever mentioned Mac miller and webby, I like you. I've been listening to both for years now preaching how good they are to friends. So far I've only found one friend who doesn't like Mac because of a bs reason. Second, check out some of these guys... De La Soul, Hopsin, Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson, Dom Kennedy, Cool Kids, you definitely have to check out Wale too like mentioned before (his wordplay is ridiculous and he actually discusses relevant issues and not just yachts, "b*++<es" and bling. Just some friendly suggestions.

I haven't been able to get into Yela too much, don't know why. His songs are very hit or miss for me. There's definitely talent there though don't get me wrong.

Taylor gang over wolf gang, don't listen to lil wayne he uses everyone else's beats and every line is a punch line, if your under the age of 16 then by all means listen to lil Wayne
Raps good but I mainly only listen to it when I'm with friends any other time I'm listening to Pink Floyd

NWA, Public Enemy, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, etc. You have to start with the classics and then work your way up through most of the modern **** that pales in comparison to the old school rap classics.
