Im Reviving a dead one here since discussion is always fun... May be just cuz I've listened to Mac since his first mixtape but I think his new stuff is fire. The progression he has made through the years is astonishing. Keep in mind he's only been rapping a few years and he's out there taking chances most artists wouldn't even attempt before he develops a solid hold on the game. Macs first 2 tapes were the same ol thing basic stick a beat onto a tape, rap over it get some attention going, kids had a vast improvement shown, blue slide parks numbers speak for itself and macadelic was a smash minus one or two songs personally. I mean the kid is 18 or 19 now and he is learning from some of the best, he's picking up producing experiencing from his collab tape with Pharell, he's working with Earl Sweatshirt from Odd Future on switching up flows and developing new style. If you haven't yet I highly suggests listening to glow, onaroll and planecarboat by him quickly. Mac isn't just your typical stoner frat rap rapper anymore. Dude is coming hard to take over and he works his *** off to give his fans quality music and awesome shows. His new album pink slime will move a whole lot of units for sure whenever it drops, mark my words.

Also check out this group Das Rascist. They have a very very different feeling from their music than most rappers. It might take a listen to get into their sound but once you let the music hit you you'll find these cats have a real talent.

If you like any of LiL Waynes new stuff... kill yourself. That man hasn't put out anything decent since he was with birdman. Now he just sounds like every other whinny Hation in SoFla.

I talked about him earlier in this thread (edit, actually no I didn't), Chris Webby is still making music and is as good as ever. His last album he just came out with is pretty good too. The kid has flow, he deserves a record deal but I hope he doesn't get one. The way he is doing things now keeps his music, his, not the radios. Mac WAS good, until he got signed, now he's just making bull**** music. Same goes for Wiz Khalifa. His mixtapes and everything were dope before he got signed. Now he's just mainstream artist and lost his style.

Lyrics NSFW.

I am not trying to dis anyone for liking who they like...but you know what? I never listened to rap growing up in the late 80's/early 90's but going back and listening to it now...it has so much emotion and told such a great story....Today's rap is horrible....of coarse they have hot beats and some creative lyrics, but its like now, they just make up words to help rhyme. Rick Ross is among some of the worst I have ever heard...lil wayne is not far behind him. Old 50 cent/G-unit is about as new as I get....
