So I'm getting into Rap....

I've listened to alot of rock over the years, from AC/DC to Nirvana to Nine Inch Nails to even Paramore but Eminem was about as far into rap as I've gotten into lol. Now I'm getting into rap and so far I like Kanye West and Gucci Mane. Honestly I would be surprised if there were alot of jeepers who liked rap but hey here goes my try lol. So recommend me artists as well as songs, even from the already mentioned!

The rap in the 80's was much better than today. Today all they do is string a bunch of f bombs together and throw in a few I'm goin' to beat that ho's in there and call it good regardless if it rhymes or not. When it dies rhyme, it's usually too many syllables for the beat causing it to be very clumsy. Sometimes they throw in a few auto tune lines in there if they want to be considered legitamate artists.

Go back and listen to rap of the 80's such RUN-DMC and early LL Cool J (especially his album Radio) and you will see what I mean.

I too have been getting more into rap and pop. I really like Dre's new song. Go to 2:45 for the music.

and Cee Lo. I love the old Motown feel he adds.

I dont know if any of you are into newer artists, but Wale is the ****. He's local to me in DC and recently signed with Rick Ross on Maybach Music.

Krs-one, epmd, jeru tha damaja, common, red man, nas. Most of these go with first and second albums. But you can't beat conscious hip hop like krsone in most all his albums.
