ALMOST any band that originated before 1990,( aside from classical music)... Few I like... and today's rap just blows; a lot of it is auto-tuned and all usually rap about the same topics.

Stuff I really dig; Rammstein, Rashamba, Stigmata, Radiohead

I like Jason Aldean, but I think Brantley Gilbert's version of his songs are a lot better than when Aldean sings them

Growing up to listening to 80s english metal... Some how I have grown to really enjoy post-hardcore. There have been some good bands that have come out of that genre lately.

As for metal, there are some bands out there that push the envelope and have some super technical sound. Just check out "The Human Abstract" and "Protest the Hero". Those guys are intense.
