What kind of learner are you? Can you read something and be able to do it or do you need like a video? There are places such as www.ultimate-guitar.com which are compendiums of free information, but most of it is text (although there are some videos). For pure beginners, I really recommend books or videos, because seeing what's going on is important.

im in the same boat.. i have been just looking up "tabs" for different songs..example.. "nirvana guitar tabs" on google search.. and you will come up with what you are looking for usually...
I also have to agree that seeing it done is VERY helpful. I have a friend at work who can play, and he has been really helpful. I cannot really read sheet music... so I just look up the tabs.. Hope that helps.. Good luck to you.. its hard, but fun to learn.. MurrayII |

I learned guitar with the help of my bestfriend, he's a great guitarist and he influenced me of that. But it is really great to learn how to play guitar.

Learn your basic chords first and work from there.A,D,C,E,G.Then you can start with other chords like E minor,F sharp,D minor,7th's,sus chords and so on and so on.You can google guitar chords and find a million.Probably about 80% of songs out there are going to be those first chords.Just work from there. It's very fun and entertaining. It might be aggravating at first but it will pay off in the end.

I've been thinking about trying again. I have a guitar that I bought several years ago but wasn't successful then. Maybe now that I'm older I'll have a little more patience. I would love to be able to play like this guy.
