16yr old quits school to play Guitar Hero

Yet another example of unfit parents...
http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/16-year-old-quits-school-to-play-video-game/1238119

" Although his parents didn't want him to ditch school, in the words of the article he "bugged them until they let him quit."

"We couldn't take the complaining anymore," Peebles' mother Hunter told the News & Observer. "He always told me he thought school was a waste of time." "

what do you care? let him quit school and become a professional video game player. lots of people quit school and follow other paths; military, art, music, athletics, and they all do just fine.

and if he fails at it, you can sagely blame his parents when he comes to empty your trash can at the end of the day.

I sincerely hope you wouldn't let your kids drop out of high school just because they were complaining a lot. Hell, I complained about school for 11 straight years and never got to quit.

For most of us school is 12 years (13 with Kindergaten). Did you attend less or just like one of the years?

i read something about him being home tutored. just because he's an anti-social freak doesn't make his parents bad people. they are just doing things differently than you.

no, i wouldn't let my kid drop out of school. unless she was 30, then she could stop. she is also not allowed to date until she is thirty. but that's just me, and how i will raise my kid.

My buddy was a guitar teacher and ever since guitar hero came out he lost about half of his buisness.

Cant wait to see the first "Video game Rock Band" headlining at a bar.

Give me a 5lb sledge hammer, a pair of safety goggles, a trash bag and two minutes in the boy's bedroom. It only takes that long to take the "Guiter" out of "Guitar Hero."
Or I could just use the hammer to dust his knee caps so his devolution into a blob can be justified.
