Agreed, Stay safe!! I was there a couple times heading out on leave when I was deployed to Afghanistan. I'm sure it's a lot different than it used to be. What's it like nowadays???

Bagram's not bad. It's got good chow and a good gym. I've gotten too old to go FOB camping with the 'kids'. I'll be in the rear with the gear this time working on staff. I'll probably get bored within a week and go out hunting.

I was on FOB Diamondback in Mosul in 2006 with the 101st, and based out of Balad from October 2010 to March 2011 with a US SOCOM JTF but traveled all over the country.

Feb 09-Dec 09
Aug 11-Dec 11 left Kuwait mar 2012

I drove convoy ops throughout Iraq. I traveled as far north as FOB warrior and all the southern FOB's. I was at FOB kalsu on its last days and FOB Adder as well, right up until the moment we gave it over to the Iraqis.

It ended as a fuel point for KBR so it pretty much was a **** hole at the end. The cavalry didnt stay long after november of 2011.

I loved scania it was so easy with the whites. I hated stopping in kalsu it would take forever with the whites and upload/download times were horrible. By far balad had to be the best for food and sleep tho.
