Every damn day I wish I was back in Afghan. Hell at this point I'd take a "deployment" to leatherneck over this pog a$$ garrison life any day.. Half of it's the weather, half the pay. The other half is living life on the edge.

Yes that's three halves but I like to live a big life.

I volunteered to come back this second time. At first myself and all the other guys who were with me last year couldn't understand why we came back. After the acclimatizing and getting use to the heat, we soon remembered all the things that made it worth it.

I was in Bagram from March 2004- April 2005, I was an Army MP doing a little bit of everything, mostly patrols around the 10k parameter and patrols on the MSR. I worked at the JOC and did some EOD and PSD escorts. What did you do?

I was there with 2nd brigade 101st airborne in 2010 to 2011 in kandahar in rc south. Did alot of work in the horn of panjwei and around that area. Set up alot of COPS after we secured them. It was cool for me and some of my buddies because instead of staying at the newly built cop we went to the next unit and set out with them to do the same. Spent 12 months. Combat engineer here. Worked with all of 502 inf AR 670-1, Paragraph 3–3. Occasions for wear

a. Soldiers may wear BDUs on duty when prescribed by the commander. Soldiers may wear BDUs off post unless prohibited by the commander. They may not wear BDUs for commercial travel, unless authorized by para 1–10c of this regulation. Personnel may not wear BDUs in establishments that primarily sell alcohol. If the establishment sells alcohol and food, soldiers may not wear utility uniforms if their activities in the establishment center on drinking alcohol only.

b. Utility uniforms are not normally considered appropriate for social or official functions off of the installation, such as memorial services and funerals. These uniforms are issued as organizational utility, field, training, or combat uniforms, and they are not intended for wear as all-purpose uniforms when other uniforms are more appropriate. 1st and 2nd batt, our 3rd brigade inf rakkasans, 3-2scr out of germany, and a little with 10th mountain div, did a few missions and had DEA with us. Got to blow up alot of heroine. clearing roads and whatever obstacles got in our way

Edit: added more details

I was right outside (eastern side) of Kandahar city 2010-2011 at FOB Walton, we turned that place around then the 4th ID came in and took over. Ran missions all the way to Pakistan border ( Spin Boldak area) to the west and about 3 hours to the west of Kandahar, and up in the Arghandab valley.

I made sure i got to run missions as sitting around a FOB all day would drive me crazy.

I was in the 319th MI Bn under the 525th BFSB. MI is completely..... well lets just say they do their own thing. It was fun as I got to run around fixing commo equipment for the teams that they broke

Just missed you in Sangin at FOB Robinson. I was there in 2010-2011 working security contracts for MARSOC and for Nolay as well. Was in Gereshk also, but only briefly

December 2001 to February 2002 with 3/6 Lima on the 26th MEU.
FOB Rhino for about a week to reinforce the 15th MEU and Khandahar International Airport for the remainder. We sat in fighting holes on the north-west side of the runway most of the time waiting to be RIP'd by the Rakkasans. It was a long wait.....
