Hah, this thread is old. I ended up joining the National Guard as well and I leave for basic in feb. But you will NOT catch me at my gym in ****ing ACUs, boots and the undershirt. That just screams tool.
I mean, at least show up in PTs or something if you have nothing else to work out it.

I never caught this thread, but I agree with attention whore. I also would not condone wear PT's outside of normal duty PT because 1- PT's are gay and 2- it is still a military uniform.

Haha I think it was the guy at the top of the page that bumped it, not Zona.
Regardless, the kid is still a tool

maybe I'm an d-bag like you guys say, but wearing them in public once in awhile I don't see as that much of a problem. But to wear a uniform to the gym, like wtf! shorts and a t-shirt is all you need! Besides I wouldn't want to **** up my uniform anyways getting them all sweaty

Why would you wear them out unless you were coming home from drill, or whatever reserve guys do. I try my best to NOT wear mine in public.

idk, like if it were me, I would wear them say once in awhile, just because I would be proud of what I've accomplished. But who knows, after I get thru boot I'll probably change that attitude!

This thread is funny and I can't help but chime in even though it's so old. There is a bit of irony associated with avid Jeep enthusiasts being so quick to criticize a young troop who was looking for a little attention. ...as if we don't relish (even a little bit) the attention that comes with driving a Jeep.

Exactly. We are supposed to wear them to and from drill...not really for wear outside of that.

I got out of the Marine Corps about a year ago. This thread is old, I shouldn't care and I still have a rise in my blood pressure. Some old salt dog Sgt. should light this dude up or anyone who pulls this, attention craving nonsense, ok ok relax. You never realize how much the Corps influences you as a person until you check back in to the real world.

Bull****, not only are you risking your safety but you are an attention whore and probably looking for handouts.

This. Everything gets put on hold when I get home until I'm out of this monkey suit.

I hope you do, or you will definately fall into my '******bag' catgory. If you wear them to anything but duty/official military function you will be like those idiots that wear them to sporting events/the grocery store/etc.
