Offutt afb??? Pcs orders

Anyone ever been? Know anyone? I've been at Meade and am coming up to my ets. I was ready to get out, I own a house and have a job lined up. Is it worth the experience to reup again specifically to go there?

Btw, I'm army and I hear there are only a very, very select few of us there.

I was born and raised in Omaha and i liked it. Offutt isnt a bad airbase either. If your into outdoor stuff that area has pretty much everything and you also have the city life of Omaha too. I had no idea there was any Army there

I don't think there really are. I think there are a total of maybe 80-90, almost none of which are my mos, and a detachment of my BN that I'm at in at Meade of maybe 8-10. It'd be a hell of a small unit. I'd love to live there... Just not sure I want to do it at the cost of staying in the Army.

Omaha is legit. A lot of our students get kind of down on it because they aren't a fan of the RC-135, but honestly it's a great location. I know a lot of RC guys and they all love it and go back on XC any time they get a chance. Upstream Brewery, LL world series (I think?), nice town. Don't let the location scare you off.

Great duty station. I spent two assignments there. raised my children there. Big city ammenities with the small town feel. Offutt AFB has plenty to do. US Army staff likely will be attached to USSTRATCOM and play a vital part of the Homeland Defense role. Do what's best for you and your family, but if you decide to go to Omaha, NE and Offutt AFB you won't regret it!

I'm there now. What questions do you have?

Offutt was my first base. I'm at Charleston now and used a BOP to get here. I hated Offutt while I was there and I chalk it up as it being my first base and wish I could go back to be honest. I love Charleston but I miss the area at Offutt.

I hear pretty good things about it. I am actually over in Cheyenne at F.E. Warren and have been trying to get a BOP to Offutt for about a year now. Anything specific?
