Any idea what unit he was in? Was he an augment, or with his BN passing through

Just wanted to throw a "thank you" out to you guys - during Desert Storm, you had THE best chow, and let us use your well-constructed hot showers. That would be whichever SeaBee unit was at MCAF Shaikh Isa, Bahrain.

I wished I would remember. I think either NMCB22 or SU2. I was SU2, but bravo detachment. We were Naval Construction Support Unit 2 Detachment Bravo, from China Lake, CA. he was from Illinois. Saying he had a sister from Ca, Santa Barbara, living on Main Street. Thats all I know.He went back to Port Hueneme before me. before deployment we spent some time in Port Hueneme, did laundry together, it was such a old time, and I wished I could locate thisntreat" Dave" again, who sent me my clear Nail polish tomKuwait and my Jelly Beans and Rasberry Blue Coolaid.....I just wanna thank him for, that. I wished I would remember his last name or his unit... It's been so long. That one paper from the envelope where he wrote the return address in Santa Barbara I unfortunately threw away.....SUCKS..... He was such a cool dude.... We had a nice friendship... One now.... Trying to find him with this thread....

Well we can say he wasnt 22, as our only organic MA was a chief, not named dave. We did have a bunch of augments from 17, but not sure where our MA's came from. I'll check our cruise book tonight to see if there's an MA Dave in it.

Thank you so much. He was I think a few years older than me, I am 43 this year so he must be about 4 years or more older.... When we met in port Hueneme he left for forward first. Then I am nit sure where they went. I was in Camp Moreel in Kuwait. Then one day he came back and we met again. And a few days later he was gone. he mailed me the things I asked him and I think I write back but not sure and have never heard from him again. All I remember I think he either was divorced or going thru separation or divorce, had 3-4 kids, was about six feet tall, brown hair I think grey eyes. I just wished I would remember his last name. But I just cannot think of it. I know he hung out with Mumford. I also think NMCB18 was there too. We were Seabees from all over the US trying to make ends meet...

Anyways thank you so much. Maybe one day I see him again.

NMCB 17 was my battalion. We didn't have any MAs in our det in Phoenix, there was an MA unit in our command, but none attached to us. Just a couple FMF HMs, that's about it.
