Can't say how much I appreciate your service to our country as I was unable to enlist due to medical reasons. Photos were great, I only got to see a few of my brothers photos before he was killed in June.

Today marks 7 years since I lost a Marine in Iraq so I thought it appropriate to bump this up.
He was firing a Iraqi RPG and it exploded killing him and two others. He was a great guy and a perfect Marine.

Yesterday I was helping my Dad cut down a dead tree in our front yard, and this guy riding a orange CBR(something) bike pulled in our driveway. He was looking for a friend and I said to him "Sick bike", he started telling me how it is his Son's bike who was killed in Iraq, he had "In memory..." on the side of the along with his Son's friend who also died 2 months prior to his son. It was kinda sad to hear but he seemed like he was in good spirit and said that they are both looking down on him... then he drove off.

Bump for a reminder to support all of our troops. Past, present and future.

Please enjoy your holiday weekend and be safe. Most importantly please take time to remember the reason we have this day of rememberance. When you see a Veteran, shake his hand, thank him, buy him a cup of coffee, etc.

Semper Fidelis.

What ship were you on for your free ride across the pond?

Edit: I assume this one?

Just enjoyed an easy morning at work looking thru every single page. This is one of the most inspiring posts I've seen anywhere.
I had 2 uncles on my mother's side serve in vietnam, one volunteered 2 extra tours.
Neither spoke of their experiences over there to others. But, once, Me and the one who did the extra tours were out fishing on a long hot day and he asked if he could tell me some of the things he experienced just to let some of it out. I had nightmares for months after that. I ws 26 at the time. I never told him of the nightmares because I felt it my duty and honor to give him that op to ease his pain, even if it was a minut amount.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU HAVE SERVED AND TO THOSE HAVE SERVED WITH THE ULTIMATE PRICE.

Ah. We were with the Kearsarge in '05. After the Suez transit we didn't see them again for 5 months, when we both went back the other direction.

I didn't read every post in the thread, but are you still in? If so, where at?
