Vietnam - all over 3rd Corps, but home based in VUNG TAU .

For those who didn't get to share the Vietnam experience - Vung Tau was the in-country R&R center. So popular even Charlie R&R'd there . Long white sand beaches, long haired mama-sans.

I flew nights (mostly, a few day recons tossed in to get good photos ) and days were spent hanging out in V.T.

If ya didn't fly into a granite cloud or downed over the Parrot's Beak - it was the best duty station in the world.

100 degrees, 100% humidity, ground fire light to moderate... .

Amazing place. If I had the money (and the guts) I'd trip back and see what it's like now. I could probably scrape up the money...but the guts...probably not . Too many memories.

Beat the heck out of Fort Lewis, tho!

USN- Naval Academy- Annapolis, MD- 2 years down, 2 to go. Not quite sure yet if I am going to go Navy Surface or Marine Ground, which I am sure sounds peculiar, but those are the two I am thinking about.

On another note, on Sunday I am headed to San Diego for training on LSD-42 Germantown, anyone know some good things to see/do out there?
