I went through USMC boot camp in 08, and later spent 6 months on Ft Jackson (army base) watching them conduct basic training. USMC boot camp is night and day harder than army basic is, and I know alot of old school soldiers who are not pleased with the way it is going. I have pictures of soldiers in basic at the DFAC on cell phones, at the BX eating at Taco Bell and Cinnabon. Im not knocking the Army as a whole since I know some harcharging individuals in it, but its basic training is just plain weak, no matter how hard you try to spin it.
