True - but you have to get new oil anyway and you can drop the cover and inspect things first.

Granted, not sure how parallel the 8.25 is accross platforms, but if need be, pull the center pin, pull the c-clips, pull the shafts, check the bearings.

But it all starts with dropping the cover and having a look inside the diff.

Find a local driveline shop, sounds like a bearing is going, and it isn't 1600 to do, it wouldn't be 1600 with a selectable locker, actually a selectable, new gears and bearings $1600, i'll buy drinks after

I find a lot of 12s and 11s were new. Give it a year or 2 and you'll find the 11s being used, then the used 12s will flow in.
