Its been a damn weekend of issues with this Jeep. I backed it out to run to the grocery store and it was acting weird. The engine was stuttering and the check engine light was going off. So I took it to autozone and it said misfire on cylinder 3. I bought 6 plugs and went home.

Changing the plugs on a Liberty is not as easy as the Patriot I had before. 3 of the 6 are hard to get to. You have to remove the air filter to get to it. It probably took me 2 hours to get the first three done. Last three were easy. It ran great after that. $15 bucks is a lot better than leaving it at the dealer and paying 200 bucks for them to change my plugs.

Hmmm, did you take the intake tube off? I literally can get the plugs done in 10 minutes.
A great trick is to put tape in the socket so you don't drop the plugs.
Hope you gapped them, too.

I think the 2009 set up is a little different than the 08s. There wasnt a coilpack on each plug. The three on the drivers side which had them were easy to change. The 3 on the passenger side were hard to reach. I did remove the air intake but still hard to maneuver around. I used a magnet to start the plugs so they didn't cross thread.

Oh, I thought it was the 2010's and up that were different. Keep us updated as to how it's running.

I'm sure they're gearing up for winter.
Your Pms are full clear them so I can respond

Sand blasting and powder coating will prevent rust. I'll bet it does look sweet though. If you think you'll keep it for a couple years I'd put a coat of POR under the wrap.

They're being installed at the dealer today! The body shop manager is doing it at no charge (my Jeep just spent 30 days there after a bus collision). I am not happy with the way the aftermarket one on the passenger side looks, driver's side is OEM and the color was off. The OEM's are totally silver, aftermarket ones have a sort of amberish cast & I can see it. Friggin' cheap@ss insurance adjuster disagreed, so I just bought Renegade ones, I wanted black anyway.

Here's a before pic, I'll post the after later.

Can't wait!

Here's mine with black eyes now:

Sure did! Now I'm contemplating whether or not I need to replace the adhesive tape on the backside in order to prevent scratching of my bumper... I'll probably put up pics and a thread tonight. Can't wait to put it on!
