Good to hear it protects. I'm surprised more people haven't dipped their grille yet. I think it looks great, too. Any pics, Ted?

There'll be some after the M&G at Mudds this weekend I'm sure. If everything goes as planned, my gecko basket will be completed.

Removed the grille and sprayed black with a flattening clear coat finish. I wasn't sure how the plastidip would hold up after a few trips thru the car wash.

Been thinking about dipping my fenders and bumpers, but my Jeep is already black.

How much was the knob? What site did you buy from? Easy to install?

3 min install: (quote credit to Drednot)

To remove, pry the lower chrome "funnel" downward till it drops away then pull sharply up on the knob. There are plastic fingers that hold the knob in a groove on the stick. The funnel was acting as a locking collar for the fingers.

To install, the new knob just drops in place and is held fast by a set screw hidden under the rubber tread band. Nice and solid.

Today I rewired my CB to draw power on its own circuit direct from the battery. No more static from other electronics when the car is on!
