I just recently did a HID job on my wife's Beetle. It was pretty easy, but they weren't bright at all. It came with an alternate wiring harness from the battery and it still wasn't bright enough. I suspect I got a crap kit on EBay. Just a point to anyone considering HIDs to make sure you get a reputable kit!

The top connector are the factory ones and the bottom are the one on the kit

This is everything that came with the kit. This is what it would look like if you were looking at the engine straight ahead.

Can you give a close up of the harness.... it should be as follows

H13 bulb has one 2 pin that goes to the relay harness (FOR HIGH BEAM -- which mine still dont work)
H13 2 connectors round and square to the ballast ( Low Beam )
the Ballast double pin off to the relay harness ( Squarish Connector )

Same setup to drivers lamp
Take OEM Plug into 3 PIN on the relay harness
Ground drivers side to NEG on batt.

That's the problem though. The OEM plug are 3 prong while the relay are 2 prong. And it doesn't really fit right.

I'll put up a picture of that when I get home later tonight.

This is the kit and website I got it from. http://www.carid.com/2008-jeep-liber...it-343277.html

That is the same kit I bought. Once I finally got it hooked up, I removed it within a day. The kit isn't bright enough for me, no light 25' past the hood.
And as far as hooking it up, I had to modify the connector that came with the kit because it was too deep to fit into the factory harness. Plus the CarID kit should have came with a special, no flicker, connector that goes between the factory harness and the ballast.

Between finding out that they might/are illegal to having to buy all new housing for the bulbs, this is turning into way to much if a chore than what i wanted. I got the 15k ones on accident anyway so should I just return them then?

If it were me, yes. I'm returning mine and they were a 5000k set. They look great when you're looking at your vehicle from the outside, but sitting behind the wheel you can't see jack. And as far as I know, they don't even make a conversion kit.
I'm going with some PIAA's like I had before. I wish you luck!

Lol! I JUST got through complaining to CarID about the same issue on HIDs! I also couldn't see sh**. Awaiting response from china so I can get my RMA to return. This kit was an H7 for the wife's New Beetle, and supposed to have been top of the line! Next time I'll read my threads to get spun up before doing a mod.

I originally wanted 5k but I got the 15k as a Christmas present. The person who got it for me thought "higher the better". Lol
