To tow hook or not to tow hook

Debating, Front tow hooks or installing a Class 3 Hitch where I can at a not to far later time get a winch. Pros or Cons? They are basically both the same price buying the tow hooks or the hitch. If I get the hitch now I can get a D-Ring adapter to slide in there until I get the winch and removable bracket for it. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same dilemma? Or which would be the best option, I like unique and versatile..... And GO......

Front hitch?
If front hitch and winch, may get you out on a slight pull.
Off side pulls would not be good

[QUOTE=tommudd;32677298]Front hitch?

Yes, such as this one. Use quick disconnect for the winch and the mounting base to slide it into the hitch....

Problems with a hitch mounted winch is
they sit really low
straight pulls are OK but off side is not
Have to haul the winch in the back, get stuck drag it out and install it
Buddy had one years ago, after twice using it he went to a winch bumper

AtTheHelm has a front recovery system with D rings and a receiver hitch. You can find them over on LOSTJEEPS.com.

One is currently in the FS section over there:

Guess I'm late to the party but I'm still building the front receiver/shackle tab combo (Front Recovery System). I also do shackle mounts that bolt up just like the factory tow hooks.
