My libby is a daily driver, since new I have replaced the oil every 2500 miles, plugs every 15k and the coolant once a year.

This may be excessive, but last night, on my way to dinner, I came to a stop light and I could have sworn the vehicle shut off, looked at the tach and she was idling silky smooth just over the 500 rpm mark. A smile came over my face as wide as the grand canyon.

I planted a kiss on the JEEP emblem on the steering wheel.... My wife rolled her eyes and said " Is this jeep your new girlfriend?" Without missing a beat, I planted a kiss on her, waited for the light to turn green, and drove off.

What model were the plugs you installed? 4030?
If I were to use the Bosch Platinums, what *could* the consequences be?
poor fuel economy? rough running? Or something more serious like toasted sensors or computers?
Or would it be fine theoretically? The part finder says its a fit, but others say the Liberty would run poorer with anything but copper.

As TJ2002 said, you are trying to move a 4000lb brick through the air...

The stock NGK plugs are just as good to use in your Libby

Korr, my car idle is rock steady with these plugs. I am not promoting these plugs, but I will recommend them.

http://www.advanceautoparts.com/1/1/...part-4030.html

I will definitely buy them again.

Filled up at was averaging 17 mpg mostly highway miles and some city driving but how the hell do I get 20 mpg? ..... 302.5 miles on one tank of gas, and just as it clicked gas spewed out every where took it to the jeep dealership and there is no warranty coverage and the guy told me he has another 2008 liberty in for the same thing. Can anyone comment how much it is to fix the gas spew problem?

Thanks for your input! I just ordered a set of 6 of them. Figure I'll give them a try. I'm at around 76,000km's on the original plugs now. (just over 47,000miles).

hope to see a slight fuel economy improvement. Will be hard to tell with summer starting and switching back to summer radials if its the plugs or not though.

Last tank, yesterday I filled, I got 460km's (285miles). put in 64litres (almost 17gallons). 70/30 city/highway, 50% stop and go

i get 22 mpg on highway with stock plugs and stock tires.
also the only solution for your gas tank spill is changing the whole gas tank.
call corporate and complain, emphasize that it endangers you and spills on your hands etc.
ive seen cases when chrysler corporate would reimburse ppl for the gas tank replacement. search the site, this problem applies not just to liberties, but to bunch of other Chrysler models

I'm getting about 20-21mpg

Keep your tires at around 40-44 psi (tire max)

i also have a K&n intake (don't clean it with compressed air, it says not to on the cleaning instructions when you buy the cleaner kit)

Also keep your rpms around 1500 and drive 55-60 and you'll get great mileage, I drive 50 miles (round trip) a day for work (5 days a week) and can have my tank last at least 6 days.

Reason for the better idle, not the plugs.

It will improve as time goes on. Is this city or highway driving? Combination of both? I've been to Pittsburgh, you guys have a lot of friggin hills so that may be a factor.

Try a different dealer. They replaced mine outside of the warranty, and I think they said it would've cost between $800-$900 if I had to pay.
