Scratched Car

So my Liberty has a nice Red Pearl paint job.

The only problem is that I scratched it pretty bad.

I have a couple of small scratches which is the first picture.

Then I have ones that go across my whole hood which is the second picture.

Do you guess know what would be the best way to approach fixing them?

Are the scratches through the paint? If you rub them with your nail, can you feel your nail going beneath the paint?

If NOT, I'd start with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0. Rub it in to see if that works for you. Worked for me with some light trail rash.

You can try wet sanding them but they look like its down to the primer.....

Marlon is spot-on. If they are light scratches, use scratch X first. Also go over it with some meguiar's Color X wax afterward. I had the same color paint on my 98 XJ and those two products used together would take out most light scratches without too much effort. I would definitely spend the few bucks and try that before getting into the serious stuff.
