Running boards?

I'm still in the market for a KK Liberty and I've come across a few with running boards. I'm torn as to whether I want them or not. Do they reduce clearance? Especially for off roading?

Opinions, please. Thanks guys!

uhmmm after four inches of lift and short legs, I tend to have to hop a bit to get into the liberty, wish I had steps. Of course as mentioned. The whole reason for the lift is due to ground clearance and lord known adding steps would take that away. I would suggest no steps and just think of all the fun you will have hopping up into the Liberty(if its lifted of course, and you are short.)

Rock rails serve as steps, plus protect your doors etc

I practically have to jump into mine as is and I don't have a lift. I'm not complaining but I've definitely considered side rails.

with no lift it's just there to have the lower part of your pants soiled.
