Just from what I have read on the forums, the answer is/should be NO. Has to do with the slider not clearing the rack when open and something about the structural integrity of the roofs ability to hold any weight associated with a roof rack.
That being said, I believe I also recall reading where someone did install a roof rack on there slider KK, but it was for the purpose of aesthetics only.

I saw somewhere, someone actually installed aftermarket rails, which are much nicer than the cheap factory stock ones and they make whatever you wish to put on the roof stay and handle much more weight. It may of been form Rockyroad. Anyway as far racks, Thule and Yakima have some really nice ones depending on what you want to use it for.

I recently put the rocky road roof rails on, i like them!

Still looking into finding a light bar or a rack that will fit over the roof while open

Thanks for the input, those rims look sharp with that color by the way. Very nice.

Could you just use standard roof rails and a basket if you don't open the skyslider, say in the winter? Or does the skyslider compromise the integrity of the roof too much?

Yeah, but you can't actually store anything in there, there are no cross bars.

Furthermore, being that I have the stock roof rails and Jeep cross bars. The cross bars are rated at 150lbs but I wouldn't put more than 50 lbs on top. The stock roof rails are more for show light weight use. With aftermarket you will get the clearance you need and be able triple the weight capacity.

There should install detachable cross bars.. but having roof rack cross bars on there will defeat the purpose of the skyslider and its operation.

I think the detachable crossbars should be stored on the side of the roof rack when not in use. You will use the skyslider more than carrying a load up top.
