I'm sure u know the standard stuff to check...filters, plugs, etc. Often overlooked is spare tire pressure.

I always carry water, papertowels and toilet paper in the car - just in case as well as jumper cables, tire gauge, ice scraper, gps, maps, cellphone charger

Be aware of the toll roads, not certain if you have ezpass or not.

Vehicle check list.( Not certain how up to date you are)

Fluids check, Oil, washer, coolant, Trans, axles, transfer case, filters.
PLugs, tires, spare tire, plugs, brakes, wipers
Good luck and becareful on 95, Virgina, Maryland, Jersey, Ct and Mass, heavily patrolled and they like to hide.

Here is what I have:

Oil Change: Due

Replaced Oct '12
Spark plugs (OEM),
Air Filter,
PCV Valve

Brakes replaced Oct '12

Tires:
less than 8 Months old. Spare is still new, used Once for less than 24hrs

2 Gal. of W/S Fluid

1 Gal. of Antifreeze (just in case)

Jumper Cables, Manual Tire Gauge, (someone mentioned an Ice scraper, so I'll bring one.. Just incase)

Two Cell phone charges

Garmin 2455LMT GPS with 2013 Map

EZ Pass / Already have Map were EZPass is accepted

I will have my mechanic inspect the front & rear end,Trans, axles, transfer case, also have him perform a coolant flush if necessary..

There are 3 routes I can go

The first route is From Mass into NY over to PA via 81 into Harrisburg and then down (I will probaly dread this route because of the fact that I've driven to Carlisle PA and it seemed to take FOREVER!)

The other routes are 95 and 85
which are the same until I get to Baltimore. This route will be taking me through Philly

(any suggestions)

Suggestions: I live in Philly now but lived in New England before that. From Boston, 90, then 84 over to Scranton and down 81 is by far the better route, even though it is longer as the crow flies. I-95 is always a mess, and ends up taking much longer anyway (due to NYC traffic jams, NJ turnpike construction, crazy unsafe drivers, and just the frustration). Unless you'd be hitting NYC in the middle of the night, I'd avoid that route. Besides, it's super expensive with all the tolls.

Agreed but 76 in around Philly is crazy too. Don't forget your patience lol

76 into Philly-- the Schuylkill Expressway-- listed as one of the 10 worst roads for traffic jams (most wasted time and wasted gas idling) in the nation. Ahh, yes, patience is a good thing. The OP wants to get from Boston down to Atlanta, so luckily he won't have to deal with that section of highway.
