Reseting "Change Oil" Notification

Hey guys, So my Change Oil thing came on over my odometer (08 sport) this past week. It was due anyway so I got it done. I turned my car on today and the same notification popped back up. Do I need to reset it manually or should the car do it by its self?

Thanks!
Andrew

If the procedure is the same as my '10 Patriot, do this: turn the key to the on position (engine still off)...press the accelerator 3 times s-l-o-w all the way down then all the way up. It should reset.

No, that's basically the reset procedure for it. You have to press slow on the accelerator 3 times within 10 seconds, then right after, start the engine.

You would think they would put a "reset" button somewhere...

That is the reset procedure, but you have to turn the key back to the off position before starting your Jeep.

Here are the steps I do:
1. Turn the key into the on position where all the warning lights are on, but the engine is not running.
2. Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and release. Do this 3 times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the key to the off position.
4. Now start your Jeep. The "change oil" notification should have gone away.

I hope this helps!

The equus 3600 code reader can reset the oil light. I purchased one. works great!
