Replacing stereo system (Deck) on 2009 KK

Hi... I want to replace my KK's audio deck with a 1 Din system. I dropped by Best buy the other day to check on prices and the guy there told me my 2009 KK needed something extra for them to be able to replace the deck... He called it a "Module", something related to wiring, not sure that I truly need that or not... Any comments on that?. I was expecting to need the deck, the installation charge and probably a mounting thing for the 1 Din stereo to fit properly.

You well need a wiring harness that ties the deck to the stock wiring, an antenna adaptor, and a mounting adaptor for the deck.

2010 KK, 2" Daystar lift, 245/75/16 BFG All-Terrains, interior LED's, front rear and cargo liner weather tech's, Pioneer AVH-p4400BT, GEX-P920XM, Kicker 6" in front 5 1/4" in rear, PB 2.75" in dash, Kicker 300.1 amp, Pioneer TS-SWX310, JK light bar with Hella 500 ff and 100w bulb, BOYO rear view camera, JBA exhaust, K&N drop in filter and more to come.

Have you considered going to Crutchfield's website?
If you decide too purchase from them, they will supply you with everything that you will need for a do it yourself install (which should be straight forward, and simple).

If you decide to have it done by a local shop, checking out Crutchfield will still show you everything you will need for the install by placing an item (receiver) in the shopping cart, then you will know what extra pieces are needed for the install, and what they should actually be charging you for.

That module is only needed if you have the fancy factory subwoofer. I went through this same problem as all the companies told me i needed that expensive module even when replacing my base model factory stereo. I can tell you for a fact all you need is the basic cheap wiring harness. All you need to do is connect the acc remote wire to the cig lighter circuit for acc power.
Don't know why you'd want a 1 din over a 2 din though, haven't had one of those since the 90's lol.

Thanks guys... Good info. I am going from 2 Din to 1 Din as I just want something that has iPhone controls and fancy lighting without spending too much... Not interested on a big screen or so... And the 90's look will bring back memories ha ha...
