PDF Wiring diagram for rear lights?

Hi All,

I'm a Cherokee guy myself, my dad has a bone stock KK and he is having some trouble with the tail lights.

The right light is not getting any power at all. We traced the wires to the rear left and then it splits to the right but the wiring colors seem to change and it all got confusing.

We did remove the plug in trailer hitch connectors just to be sure. But there was no change. It was plug in hitch wiring, not spliced in.

Anybody have a wiring diagram? Thanks all!

A bit more detail and a correction.

The left light is out, the right light works fine.

The bulb assembly from left and right is the same, so we moved the bulbs over and confirmed that is all correct. So the problem is the wiring for the parking light on the left side.

Where does this wire split off of the harness? I assume the left and right at together at some point.

Did you check the fuse yet?
Sometimes those fuses just pop. You assume its a bulb and then come to find there's no power back there.
They now have a fuse for each light.

Thank you for your input.

My father, gear head for 50+ years, could not comprehend having two fuses for 1 set of tail lights.

He swapped the fuses left and right and found the problem. Course he doesn't own any of these "New Fangled" mini fuses, so he will have to go out and buy some.. LOL

anyways, call this one resolved.

I just recently learned that lesson myself on the step-son's GF's 05 GMC

I think it's a great idea. Have an issue with one light, it blows its own fuse and the other light still works.
