Ok, stupid question time again....

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but figured I would put it out there. I know that the stock Sport had the option for either the 245/75/R16 or the 235/70/R16 (which to my understanding is the same size tire but just a little wider.

I am starting to shop around for tires since the high quality Goodyear's it came with are past 50% tread. I really like the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's. I had them on my Bronco years ago and really like the quality and look of them.

I have been researching them trying to get some prices. When I search for tires on any of the tire dealers using my KK as a starting point it does not show these tires as being available to put on the truck. Instead it shows the BF Rugged Trails. However, when I search by size (235/70/R16), the All Terrains show up. Now my guess is that this maybe because of the design of this tire that there would be some kind of rubbing as opposed to a more "radial" style tire.

Now secondly, if this is the case, I am planning on installing the OME Suspension lift kit ...guess it is like 1.5".(btw....will have many more questions on this.....). If this tire would cause rubbing of stock suspension, would this lift eliminate that???

Thanks to all in advance!!

The 245/75R16's are not a stock KK tire size, they are like 1.5" taller then the stock sized 235/70R16's.

235/70R16's = 29" tall
245/75R16's = 30.5" tall

That's my typo error...I meant stock with 225/75R16 and optional 235/70R16

Ok,

First of all, always search by the size you want. if you search by your vehicle, you will get the stock tire sizes, and maybe some slightly larger ones that will also fit. you won't get anything that only fits with a lift.

This also explains why the 245/75/16's don't show up. Simply put, they will NOT fit on the Liberty without a lift kit installed. there is another thread here where someone put a chart up that shows the tire sizes and how they fit. Here is a quick rundown:

225/75/16 - Stock size
235/70/16 - Stock size
235/75/16 - Fits without a lift kit.
245/70/16 - Fits without a lift kit, rubs at full lock.
245/75/16 - Barely fits, rubs at lock and under compression. Needs minimum 1.5" lift kit to fit without rub.
Anything bigger - Get a lift kit or don't bother.

Right...exactly, but the 235/70r16 is a stock size which the bf comes in but doesn't show under a search. My question is will it fit without rubbing.

If it's a stock sized tire offered on your KK it will fit with zero rubbing issues on the stock rims.

OK, so i appoligize for my ignorance but......now the 245/75/16...would that fit on stock rim or would that require a different size rim? Also, for those who are familiar with it, would this size tire work with the OME suspension kit?

As long as you have a 16" rim it'll fit. And yes 245/75 16 will fit with the ome lift. It's actually 1 of the most common combinations between lift and tire size

245/75R16 tires work best on a 16x7 rim(stock rims size). Many like to put them on a 8" wide rim but that is at the very edge of that tire size rim selection. If you ever take it offroad and airdown more issues will result from having them on a 8" rim compared to a 7" rim.

With no rub? At least 5" of lift with massive cutting,of course regearing is mandatory at that point to 4.56's.

Check out some of the posts on LOST. I recently asked a member to post a side view of his KK to see if I wanted to get the spacer plates along with the lift or not.

In the mean time, I'll see if I can get a few links for you.
