New Radio

If a new deck is installed, do i lose the steering wheel controls? I have UConnect on the radio controls on the back of my wheel. In the future i want to put back a touch screen nav into it like i had my old car, but i dont want to lose the features of the steering wheel controls.

Crutchfield PAC (as per marlon above) will let you keep all the steering wheel functions, but you will loose the UConnect phone.

iDatalink does not have the UConnect phone/aftermarket radio interface ready yet. Hopefully soon.

A nice deck with Bluetooth and the PAC is the only option at the moment.

Well that sucks Loki don't want a pointless button on my wheel that sits there and does nothing. Thanks for the info

I'm pretty sure the nav deck needs a special cable and nav capable antenna. Make sure before laying out the dough-re-mi!!
Good luck and keep us posted.

We are very close to shipping our Dodge/Jeep solution to retain uConnect when Maestro is installed with selected Kenwood radios. Won't be long.

I went through two radios, Pioneer and Alpine. I was very unhappy with not having Uconnect and I was having an issue with all the antenna adapters for the radio not being able to get good signal at all. Just sold those radios and bought a factory DVD/NAV/Sirius radio. I could not be happier now. All controls work, I have uconnect and can the kids can watch dvd's on trips and I have Sirius radio now all in one unit. I know it's not for everyone put perfect for me.

Unless you have a lockpick how are your kids able to watch movies? The DVD functionality only works when the vehicle is in park.

I ordered it online from a dealer that offers a service to program the radio to work in drive. It works even better than lockpick. You don't have to hit any buttons or tap the on/off button to make it work. Just tap view video.

I bought it from OEM Auto Parts Co.

I actually found the radios on eBay then contacted them about what I wanted and they were nice enough to let me know my options and fix me up with what I wanted to do. All plug and play. NO programming or setting anything up on my end. It comes all ready to go. I thought it was a pretty good deal. And no matter how your jeep is equipped it will all work together since they are factory.
