Need tires - what size?

I have a 2011 Liberty Sport with factory wheels/ wrangler ST (garbage) 225/75/16. I need new tires was thinking of going a little wider, keeping the same rims. Anyone know how much wider I can go than the 225's? I'm leaning toward the Cooper Discoverer AT's.

Are you on stock suspension?
I'd try a 235/75/16

Maybe 245/70/16 but may rub with no lift.

235/70/16 is also a stock size that will be about the same height a what you have but a little wider.

I went 235/75/16 and they are what I would call a perfect fit. Changed the ride and handling of the Liberty into something nice to drive. Offers plenty of meat on the road for good surface contact, not so wide as to throw crap down the side of the Jeep, still has just enough clearnance as to no worries of any rubbing due to suspension travel or worries of mud build up clogging the wheel well in less than perfect trail grip.
