need help big time

someone poured sugar down a friends gas tank its an 08 jeep liberty,now my question is on the filler tube to the tank as it enters the tank there is a plastic piece with a screen in it how can i remove that plastic piece cause almost all of the sugar is sitting right there

Maybe try to vacuum up what you can see?

Careful with the vacuum as it might cause ignition of the vapors. Have a fire extinguisher charged and ready to go!

yea i ended up pulling off the filler neck and washed out the sugar and then used my shop vac on the gas tank to suck out what i could looks like they poured alot in but o well

Sugar is not soluble in gas so if some got in the tank not to worry.
