My New KK Sky Slider

Hey everyone. I turned in my 2008 Rescue Green Wrangler Unlimited last night for a 2011 Charcoal Grey Jeep Liberty Sport with the sky slider. I feel like the liberty is a cross between the wrangler and the grand cherokee (at least the older ones). Can't wait till summer to get full use out of the top. I think I want to get some nice black running boards, any ideas?

We love the sky slider roof on our Jeep. It's hard to imagine going to just a normal sunroof after having it for a couple of summers. The only complaint with it is that when driving at highway speeds there is a whistle - when driving into the wind especially.

It cant be any worse than the my wrangler was. Rattles and wind noise galore.

lol.. Congrats on your new purchase, I'm sure you will enjoy it. As a previous wrangler owner, I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you take it to the trail. Any plans of lifts? tires? etc?

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I dont do any real wheeling, I do go on the beach with my trucks during the summer. I was thinking of getting some A/T tires to handle the beach a little better.

My wife's has the whistle also. You can hear it good above 55. But hell its a canvas moon roof. Im jealous of it sometimes especially when i need to haul stuff in my vehicle. With stock wrangler st's, It did a hell of alot better in the snow then my sahara bridgestone dulers(craiglist buy)

The liberty is a tank in the snow. I was impressed!!!!

i searched and searched for a pair of flat black running boards for our '10 KK last summer. beyond looks we needed them to help my '91 year old mother in law into the front seat so they had to be functional as well.

it took many hours of scouring the net but i finally found the set i wanted online at the Running Board Warehouse. my buddy has a body shop and he did the install. the boards can be painted to match the KK body but i left them black. my buddy made a slight modification during the install. he thought that they needed a tad more support than was supplied so he fashioned a couple of extra mounting brackets. they look great!

i've tried several times to post the URL for the supplier but the resulting link doesn't work so here's the information you need.

- do a google search for Running Board Warehouse
- when you get to the main page select JEEP from the left hand column
- select Liberty
- the boards i selected are the Custom Molded Running Boards

good luck.

Check here about the noise issue. A few dollars of weather stripping can help. I did it a few weeks ago when my '09 seemed to be louder. There are pics on another forum.
