Mopar black tubular side steps

I am a new member and a potential owner of a 2010 Liberty. I am in the process of ordering my first Jeep product and one of the options I am considering are the black tubular side steps as my wife is partially disabled and finds it hard to get in and out of the Liberty. One of the uses of my new vehicle will to be towed behind my motorhome on a tow dolly. I read somewhere while researching tow dollies that running boards and side steps can sometimes hit the tow dolly and should not be used. My question is, has anyone had any experience with towing a Liberty on a tow dolly and are my concerns valid?
