miles until empty

in my 2011 jeep liberty renegade, when the low fuel light comes on the miles until empty just says "LOW FUEL".
my old 99 jeep grand cherokee used to give me exact miles until empty... all the way down to "0 MILES UNTIL EMPTY".
i miss that.

Maybe one of the guys who posts on technical stuff knows where the
"trigger" is set in the KK's software for the Low Fuel indicator to come on. On my '93 Cherokee it was at 2 gallons.

the trigger on the liberty seems to be around 20miles...
it would be nice if you could change the "LOW FUEL" to actual "MILES UNTIL EMPTY".
i know it's low on fuel, that's what the little orange gas pump light is for.

I was always told 2 gallons remain when the light comes on. Ugh! Math.

Dont let your fuel get down that low...i rarely go under a quarter tank, seems simple enough. But then again i havnt even had one tank of gas through my KK yet.

If this is something you really feel that you need to know, you could purchase a ScanGauge II for $159 and it will tell you everything you want when it comes to your MPG. Plus a whole bunch more.

I let mine run really low last week, the needle was on the line and it took a little over 18 gals. I think the tank capacity is 19.8 so I won't be doing that anymore...

Friendly correction: Kramer ran it to see how far below the empty line "empty" really was.

2011 Jeep Liberty - Miles until Empty

I have taken my 2011 Jeep Liberty 30 miles once the gas light has come on. I wouldn't push it further than that.

I think its ~2.5 gallons. When I fill up its always between 17.2-17.8 gallons and its a 19.5 gallon tank. I think the light comes on at 17 gallons.

Yeah I'm almost positive this is correct. Pretty sure it states it somewhere in the owner's manual. I'm that guy always running it low.
