What exactly are you looking to get out of the CB?

Exactly. Need more specifics. Are you looking for something permanent or something simply for the trip. Are you going with other people who will be on CB or just want it off the highway entertainment. Details my friend.....details! Lol

Chrome may not get you home, but sometimes it looks nice.

I have that radio and it's great. It has NOAA weather bands as well as CB frequencies. It is also great because it's small and easy to mount in the Jeep, and it can be disconnected and hidden when I am parked in the city. I have a quick disconnect for my antenna too (mounted above the passenger's side tail light) for the same reason.

Yup, I just got that radio because my fire radio takes up the spot where my old CB radio was where that Map strap storage thing is. I mounted the new radio on the "oh ***** handle" on the left side of the handle on the passenger. Its nice because it is actually pitched towards the driver when in the cradle.

Edit:

Here is a picture of my dash with all the radios. Sorry its a bit choppy with the way the panorama app stitched everything together, but you get the idea.

Sagerist, do you have any problems whacking your knee on the radio in the strap area? I am a rather large person (6 ft tall, 330 lbs) and can only imagine the lost space there.

Not really, i have never noticed it being an issue and even so, i just lean against it and its fine. But thats why that cobra 75 is great. You dont have that box as the radio is built in to the hand mic. and you can put the other part of the component where all the cabling connects to under the shifter. That piece of plastic just lifts straight up with some pins. Thus, you wont have an issue with the space being taken away at all. Since i have two radios, one for my Fire/EMS and one for CB and my fire is a full unit. i got the 75 so that i can have both and not have to mount another box somewhere because there just simply isnt space for two full radios without sarcrificing something. I want my interior to be clean and look as if its suppose to be there and not have cr@p everywhere. So my method works great for me. and just to note. Fire radio mic and unit is on the left side with the box to the left of the center console lit up orange, and the cobra is on the right oh ***** handle.
