Liberty or Patriot better off road?

Assuming comparable equipment, is there a reason to prefer a Liberty to a Patriot off road or vice versa?

Solid Rear Axle, way more lifts to lift higher. Higher by default. Stronger engine and torque and many other reasons others will chime in

The Patriot is smaller for tighter places, but the liberty is better in about all other areas. The larger liberty will haul more and tow. The trail rated Patriot is a decent off road vehicle, the best in its smaller class.

More aftermarket items available for the Liberty if you're going past the "stock" version later on.

Mpg is in Patriots favor, horsepower goes to Libertys.

There really is no comparable equipment between them. The Patriot is a front wheel drive 4cyl with 4wd actuated electroniclly and so it has no 2 speed transfer case. The Liberty KJ is a v-6 rear wheel drive with a 2 speed transfer case that gives you a real 4hi and 4lo range. I don't know if I am explaining that right but that is the best way I can think of. They will both have off-road capability but the KJ is more capable.
