Liberty Aftermarket Exhaust Suggestions

I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust system on my jeep to something a little more aggressive. I have a K&N Cold Air intake installed and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what they like for exausts. So far I know that MagnaFlo yields a pretty nice sound, but are there better systems I should look into?

I have a 2011 KK btw.

I've been doing a bit of research myself because I had the same inquiry. Looking on Amazon there's the Gibson, Flowmaster and Magnaflo; priced around 300, 500, 700 respectively. Seems they all have pretty good reviews, "great sound" "easy install" "noticeable performance" Obviously hard to say just by simple comments what they actually sound like, but they all seem happy haha. I'm pretty sure a few people on here have the Gibson setup and like it, that's what I am leaning towards because it's cheaper and I still want to get a K&N and eventually a hypertech, just need the $$.

Would love to hear from the people who actually have exhaust and see what their reviews are!

I had a magnaflo on my LJ 4.0L. Sounded OK and no real performance gains.

I worked at a muffler shop at one time and my advice is V6s don't lend themselves well to aftermarket or custom exhausts. They tend to have a ricey sound that isn't what the customers were after. Even a custom fabbed full dual exhaust didn't have the sound one would get from the same V8 application.

I would recommend first, before you drop dime on any aftermarket system, take your rig to a local shop and have them straight pipe it. Have them just cut out the muffler and replace it with a straight section of pipe. Leave the resonator and see how you like it. Most places should charge about $50 for about a thirty minute job.

The factory pipes will flow all the exhaust that the 3.7L will make. The only real restriction being the muffler. Increasing the diameter of the pipes will only serve to lower the velocity of the gasses.

Do a youtube search for "jeep liberty muffler delete" and you will get an idea of what to expect...

Magnaflow Muffler in place of the stock one
Remove the resonator and install a pipe
No need to replace all of the pipes since the new ones will be the same size
and save your money and stay the hell away from CAIs
only thing you get is a louder sound nothing more
Can't believe how many waste their money on them

Does CAI refer to cold air intake? I already have a K&N one installed and like it..

They beat me too it. Factory exhaust is perfect. Only thing that will help it is changing the muffler. And even that is mostly for sound.

Haven't heard anyone complain after buying the Gibson for the KK. I've had nothing but compliments from family and friends about it. It's quiet enough, but loud enough when ya want it to be.

Did you Gibson guys get just a muffler, or the whole pipe replacement set?
