It wasn't too bad but you probably won't be able to do it alone. There's a bunch of plastic cutting you'll have to do. I used a Bosch oscillating cutter. I tried almost every brand and theirs was the only one that didn't raise a huge plastic burr from cutting.

I'm planning to put a three footer on this year and have it tuned like I did the one I have now. I'll keep the longer one for awhile just in case. I've been told that mounting it on the front bumper is the best way but when it's plastic there just isn't anywhere to put it.

Thats right. I remember his pics now. I was thinking that was 3ft. Think my best bet is 3ft.

Looks really good but seems like a lot of work for someone who is not that crafty like myself.

It really isn't that bad. Fender flares, bumper skin removal, drill a couple holes and bolt it together. The hard part was trimming the bumper skin, that took forever.

why? Its technically not outside, the drill points anyways... Mine are inside the door jam and a few others have put there's inbetween the light housing and the body mounting the screws upward to avoid having it rub on the tailgate door potentially. You could always get those magnetic antennas and run the cabling the same way and up the tailgate onto the roof. Thats what i did for my Fire/EMS radio, no drilling or holes involved.

Page 1 of this thread, Step #4 (with Photo)

Seems to be the popular antenna mounting spot.
