Nah, you are kinda of the Go big or go home kind of guy from what i have gathered on the forum. As long as you dont have to park in any garages, (if you plan on keeping the antenna on full time), then you dont have anything to worry about.... other than power lines, street lights, tall trees, low flying aircraft, etc

Got my Firestik Mount yesterday and i went ahead and proceeded with getting parts of the install in. Mainly, putting my first holes into the body of the jeep (its mine now!!!) and routing the CB Wiring from the unit to the back, which was pretty much cake getting the wire underneath all of the plastic pieces. Only slightly difficult part was getting the cable past the rear seats as the seats themselves dont let the plastic siding pop all the way off. The mount fits great, tho i wish i put it slightly lower and the gate rubs a tad bit on the mount when its closed, but oh well. here is where i mounted it and only used three screws as goodprepper did, and its held in the solidly. I was able to bend the mount a bit to get some more room and less rub and the mount itself didnt move nor did the screws lose their bite into the body. antenna and spring get here today, and then all thats left is tuning the antenna and the power cabling for the cb unit.

It wasnt bad at all. I started with a smaller drill bit and then kept working up to the right size where the screw could barely get in the hole to make sure it stayed on tight. Good luck though. The first hole is the hardest one!

Do you have to worry about the rear hatch leaking when it rains?

It shouldnt leak if you silicone the screw holes before you bolt everything down. thats what i did at least, plus, its always so dirty in there i doubt any water even gets back behind there.

Oh, and its the D-post.

What channel you on? I can probably make it to you all the way from CO with that thing on!!!! Good work, glad you got it on. Seems like this will be the standard KK CB Antenna Mounting position.

Should be getting my gear in this week. Hopefully can post pics one I'm done.

My setup:
Cobra 75 WX ST
Wilson Silver FGT 3'
Firestik HD Spring
RoadPro Fold Over Stud Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Radio-Fold-Ove...s=cb+fold+over)

Not sure how well the fold over will work, but going to give it a shot since I use parking garages on a daily basis. Like the idea of a fold over rather than a disconnect for garages. If anyone has any experience with one of these, let me know.
